Apple Crisp

This is a typical Mom recipe: simple, easy to put together and absolutely delicious.

Fill a 9 x 13 inch pan almost to the top with sliced apples. (Peel if you want to; you don’t have to) Sprinkle apples with 3/4 to 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon Make topping:

2 cups flour

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

8 T. butter (1 stick)

Mix topping ingredients together in a bowl with a pastry cutter (like pie crust),or do it in a food processor, then sprinkle topping over the apples in the pan. Pat the topping firmly with your hands so that it looks like a crust. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-60 minutes. (You can easily cut this recipe in half; use an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan or even a pie pan)
