Plymouth Steak

This is a recipe I passed along to Mom; she and Dad really liked it.

2 pounds round steak; sprinkle with salt, pepper and about 1 T. flour,

Brown on both sides in 2-3 T. butter or margarine in a Dutch oven or big sauce pan.

Mix together:

2 onions, sliced

1 green pepper, cut in strips

1 can chopped tomatoes

1 cup cranberry juice

1/2 can cranberry sauce

2 T. cider vinegar

Pour over the browned round steak, cover pan, simmer on stove top for 2 hours, adding more cranberry juice if necessary. Alternately, you can bake this in a 325 degree oven for 2 hours, or if you cut the meat into smallish pieces, it also can cook all day in a crock pot.
