Jammy Whiskey Sour
2 oz whiskey
1 tsp citrus marmalade
1 oz lemon juice
½ oz 2:1 simple syrup
½ oz egg white (optional)
Dash angostura biters
This works really well with orange marmalade, but if you can find Sicilian lemon marmalade at Cost Plus it’s even better. The egg white here is optional, it makes a much creamier drink that you want to have in a coup neat. In a shaker (no ice) combine whiskey, marmalade, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white. Dry shake that to fluff up the egg white, then add your ice. Shake. Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coup glass top with a dash of bitters.
Note: you can forgo the egg white and dry shaking and just shake with ice, pour into a rocks glass with ice and top with bitters. It’s still really good.
